SAVE THE DATE: OPENING - NOVEMBER 19TH - 6PM TO 9PM
It is with great joy that we announce the opening date of the exhibition Surya, which brings together the work of Veridiana Leitecurated by Leonor Carrilho.
Surya presents a new body of work from the practice of Veridiana Leite, a visual artist from Ribeirão Preto, Brazil, currently living in Lisbon.
Veridiana paints like she dances. Her loose, spontaneous, almost wild gestures deconstruct our imaginary landscapes and take us to new places, sometimes magical, sometimes dark, where our perception is challenged to other observations. Based on references to female figures or mythological beings that are important in her work, Veridiana presents a series of new paintings and ceramic pieces that reveal not only the organic nature of the materials she uses, but also the spiritual expansion of her practice as a painter, sculptor and dancer.
We hope to see you there!

"Houses"
“Only houses explain why there is a word like intimacy” Ruy Belo
“The stick house, drawn with colored pencils, a somewhat messy rectangle, a somewhat triangular roof, lost in some landscape, with sun and clouds in the background. Next to it is a family of stick figures, with their round heads, waving and smiling and many times larger than the house itself.
This is the description of almost every human memory about their first graphic drawings.
The house, the family, the landscape.
Three elements that surround us throughout our lives, and also mine. Is it possible to go through the human experience avoiding these elements? I do not believe…
It seems like it's always been what we've been longing for: a roof, a sloping roof, a window perhaps open, and friends or family nearby.
This is the starting point of the research and execution of this series. It all started, once again, with a watercolor notebook, where houses that appeared on my real or digital paths began to be registered.
These houses asked for space, left the notebook and began to be grouped into larger paintings, connecting or disconnecting between them, through bridges, passages, stairs, tunnels.
Only them in the paintings, without any mention of the human figures, who certainly were or still are there. Stains in sinuous waves cover what was, or reveal what is to come.
The houses, designed and confused in this way, are a kind of tribute to our greatest search, a safe place in this world, in this existence.
A home should be the basic precept, the starting point of our dignity, but it is increasingly becoming a luxury. For various reasons, from political and social aspects, to the increasingly intense consequences of our disregard for the planet, homes are becoming a privilege. Housing is increasingly under threat, making us even further away from that first childhood ideal.
If it is within four walls that we make our most intimate connections, our deepest pains, our best kept secrets and our most precious memories possible, how will it be possible to live without them?
We are not prepared for the slowdown that is increasingly spreading across the world.
These imaginary houses, cities and paths that appear in these paintings can be what was, what will no longer be or what will be. This great “imaginary map” is an invitation to think together, to open floodgates of imagination to new ways of living possible in the midst of “such interesting” times.

These houses demanded space, left the notebook, and began to gather in larger paintings, connecting or disconnecting with each other through bridges, passages, stairs, tunnels.
In the paintings, there are only the houses, with no mention of human figures, who certainly were or still are there. Patches in sinuous waves cover what was, or reveal what is to come.

Eduarda Rosa, initially trained in Pharmaceutical Sciences and Organic Chemistry, produces works based on a visual poetic linked to the deconstruction of scientific methods. Like a reliquary, the exhibition offers a deep dive into meticulous yet sensitive works and voluminous image categories, where everything is highly illustrative of the way in which the artist's mind operates.
Our project room, the smallest gallery in Lisbon, is occupied by Gabriela Albuquerque @gabialb.art , showing her most recent series, “Casas”.

Discover the Art of Tarot by Manoel Quitério at Coletivo Amarelo
Our latest exhibition, PATHS OF RETURN, presents the captivating work of Manoel Quitério. Born in Recife, Brazil, Manoel's delicate paintings explore his ancestry, connections with the world of dreams and his personal internal universe.
The exhibition features 22 pieces, including Manoel's unique interpretation of the tarot's major arcana. Traditionally centered around Eurocentric and masculine symbols of power, Manoel's tarot deck reimagines these figures through an Afro-Brazilian lens, celebrating the feminine power and spiritual richness of Candomblé. His magnetic, almost hypnotic drawings bring a fresh, vibrant perspective to the classic European tarot tradition that has been a subject of fascination for centuries.
We are excited to announce the availability of limited edition fine art prints of Manoel's tarot deck. Each print is part of a small edition of 7, signed and numbered by the artist, offering collectors a unique opportunity to own a piece of this extraordinary work. The prints capture the essence of Manoel's artistic vision, mixing religious syncretisms with a celebration of African heritage.
Experience the Tarot: Past, Present and Future
In addition, we invite you to engage with the tarot in a personal and meaningful way through our option to pick and choose three different cards, representative of your past, present, and future. We are happy to assist you with choosing your three cards, providing more in depth information of the meanings of each card. This experience is not only a way to gain personal insight but also a chance to acquire a truly special piece of art.
As a gallery, Coletivo Amarelo is committed to making art collecting accessible and supporting emerging artists. We believe that the best way to support artists is to purchase their work, and we are here to make this process easy and enjoyable for you.
Contact us through here - contact@coletivoamarelo.com - if you need assistance with choosing the prints and we will look forward to hearing from you 🙂

"But what kind of return are we talking about? In many cultures, ancestry is a primordial concept that permeates all spheres of social life, reflecting a broad understanding of the human being and the universe, from the closest family relationships to the broadest and most diverse social relationships. and community practices. We refer, therefore, to the return to Afro-diasporic ancestry, in which the artists present in this exhibition are inserted.." Cristiana Tejo
