MIART 2025

MIART 2025

This year, Coletivo Amarelo will be part of the Portal section of the Miart

What is the Portal? Curated by Alessio Antoniolli. The Portal section brings together projects that break down the boundaries between disciplines, time and space, exploring unusual narratives and perspectives, as well as new creative fields. The choice of design is inspired by Robert Rauschenberg's visionary approach to making art as a collective process and his description of his collaborative works "as a single group of brains, feelings and solutions." Rejecting rigid and outdated categories, these projects challenge our understanding of geography and temporalities, offering a richer and more complex view of the past and present to reshape our future.

Coletivo Amarelo is proud to present the project "Stories Incarnate: Intertwined Paths", which brings together the works of Flavia Regaldo and Juliana Matsumura, two Brazilian artists whose work explores themes of memory, identity and interconnectivity. Through drawing, installation, photography and printmaking, their practices interweave personal and historical reflections on ancestry, displacement and the forces that shape our world.

From Juliana's intricate explorations of memory and territory to Flavia's dynamic investigations of rhythm, chaos and nature, their works create a space for reflection - offering an alternative way of navigating our past, present and future. The use of paper and various printing techniques, such as monotypes in Juliana's work or etchings in Flavia's, also reflects each artist's individual quest to print their stories, while connecting their practices both physically and conceptually.

PRELIMINARY: PAPER AS A PROCESS

We invite everyone to our first opening of the year, PRELIMINAR: PAPER AS A PROCESS, a group exhibition that brings together works on paper by:

Veridiana Leite Diego Garcez Gabriela Albuquerque Paula Ferreira Juliana Matsumura

The exhibition delves into the idea of paper as a threshold, where paper operates as a boundary between the outside world and the artist's inner universe. The works presented are a compilation of sketches, studies, unfinished drawings, monotypes and preparations for what comes next.

Paper as a preliminary, a starting point, a vehicle, a laboratory for experimentation. Paper as a relic, vulnerable to the elements, reactive to temperature and time. Paper as a space where ideas take shape and later materialize into something different.
