Juliana Matsumura (Mogi das Cruzes – São Paulo, 1993) lives and works in Lisbon. She graduated in Design at Escola Ar.Co, and attended the Graduation in Textiles and Fashion at the University of São Paulo and the Degree in Arts and Humanities at the University of Lisbon. She participated in the artist laboratory at Nowhere Lisboa between 2019 and 2020 and concluded the Visual Arts Course at FLAD (Luso-American Foundation for Development) in 2022. The artist recently received support from the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation with the residency project entitled “Kawa-Kami”, developed at Casarão do Chá (São Paulo) in 2022.
