In creating this painting, I thought of an inner dive. I used shades of blue to represent the bottom of the sea as a psychic state of calm and introspection. Mermaids appear as symbols of the deep feminine - beings who dwell between two worlds, the conscious and the unconscious, guardians of secrets, intuition and desire. They represent a sensitive, mysterious, instinctive force that connects us to our deepest layers. Aquatic plants complete this silent and fluid environment.
