In Biology, cosmopolyte is an organism that is distributed around the world, like mosses (Bryophyta), which are usually found anywhere with humidity. This is the case in the Atlantic Forest, the most degraded rainforest in Brazil, which currently accounts for only 7% of its native coverage. The biome is full of mosses covering the soil and tree trunks. Seen up close, they reveal the empirical results of evolution: movement, dynamism, adaptation and accomplishment.
