Part of the Gap series, "Silence" is a textile construction and serves as a wall hanging decoration piece. Made through weaving in nail loom, crochet and embroidery, it displays Monica's relationship with organic forms, textures and the notion of landscape and refugee. Monica's observation of elements found in nature such as patterns, colors and formal structures is intertwined with her interest in handicrafts and what is considered "traditional for women". "Silence" is a celebration of handmade intricate work.
