Mônica Lóss is a multimedia visual artist, designer and art educator born in Brazil. She holds a Bachelor's degree and art of teaching degree in visual arts from the Universidade Federal de Santa Maria, Brazil. At the same institution, she has a postgraduate degree in surface design and a Master's degree in art and education.
Later she moved to Barcelona, Spain, where she lived for 5 years and earned her PhD in arts from the Universidad de Barcelona. After that, she lived in São Paulo, Brazil for 4 years, worked on cultural and art consulting projects, published a photography book and wrote and illustrated a children's book. The last years she has participated in exhibitions in differents cities in Brazil , United States, Mexico and in some European countries.
She currently lives in Ann Arbor, Michigan , where she works as a visual artist and designer, is a member of the artistic group Goma Grupa (@gomagrupa) and participates in the Extension Program Studio Apotheke in dissidence, of the UDESC (Universidade do Estado de Santa Catarina), Santa Catarina, Brazil.
